I'm posting this because people about to have a hyperparathyroid adenoma removed probably want to hear from someone who has had it done and is feeling great.
Two weeks since my operation (today's photo) and I continue to feel fabulous, as I have since that moment of relief when I woke up and knew that I was alive, the adenoma had been removed, and I had a fresh beginning gifted to me. :-)
Since then, I've had a happy time, enjoying more family visits with loved ones. Basic living things, such as showering, dressing, shopping, are no longer an exhausting event. That's a great source of happiness for me.
I am heading to the hydrotherapy pool because the armchair and bed look too inviting (sluggish old habits take an effort to break), and I am going to make 2017 a great year. Mixing with people who are like the sort of person I want to become is what I need, and there are some fabulous people working out at hydrotherapy centers who would inspire anyone to feel that they too can put on a smile and work a little harder toward fitness. I have a low tollerance for snake oil sellers and negative people, both try to latch on te people with health issues ad drag them down. Souround yourself with positive influences, it's an essential part of being the best that you can be.
I'm making an effort to become more active and work to strengthen my bones and lungs. I'll report again after I see Dr Julie Miller early January for the post op check. I want to be able to tell her of my having made an effort to improve that part of my health that will require exercise to bring about positive change. Feel welcome to ask more about my plans to improve my fitness at seventy. I'm happy to share more.
You are not your illness; you are so much more. Live, love, and enjoy life, no matter what. Happy, positive thoughts, New Year, everyone. Sending healing vibes your way.
